Another starship owned by the Klingon Empire is the Mek’hlar Class Destroyer which has been commissioned in stardate 2360. The Mek’hlar class runs the IKS Mek’hlar, Vang’shua’a, Vaknor, Shri’ku’leth, additional 196 vessels, and more that are still being produced.

The Mek’hlar is composed of 5 decks with the size of 104 meters in length and 25 meters in height. It has a beam length of 106 meters and has 14 crew members. To answer attacks or initiate battle, the ship is powered by disruptor cannons of 20,000 TeraWatt power and quantum torpedo tubes. In defense it uses the standard shield system and a standard level structural integrity field in addition to its duranium or tritanium single hull high density armor. Its normal warp speed for cruising is 11 while the maximum is 12. It could use a maximum warp speed of 12.5 for six hours if necessary.

The overall strength index of the ship reaches an average of 413 with the maneuverability at 11, 920, speed at 837, hull armor at 830, shield strength at 410, weapon accuracy at 490, torpedo firepower at 120, and beam firepower at 400. The Mek’hlar class has an estimated hull life of 40 years with refit cycles scheduled at a standard time of every 5 years. Minor refits could be done yearly while major ones is expected only after 20 years. As the years progressed since 2360, the Klingon Empire continuous to remodel and upgrade the abilities of the Mek’hlar class making it the new face of the Klingon force.
